Alabi Tuwonimi Tuonims, popularly known as Ninety is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist that hails from Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria. Ninety formerly known as Ninety6 has been in the music business for a long time but burst into the limelight when he was signed to Freeme Music in 2020.
He subsequently worked on Magnito’s Bars and Lamba EP, which he featured on four of the five tracks off the project. Since then, he has dropped a couple of singles and earned plaudits from Magnito, Moelogo and more. His single Touch and Follow earned a lot of rave last year when it dropped.
Ninety’s debut album titled Rare Gem is just what is needed after series of successful singles. The fans needed something more than a single, perhaps a full length project, and he did not disappoint. The Rare Gem EP is a well crafted body of work which is nicely pieced together to give enough satisfactions that can be derived from a project by his fans. After just a few singles, many would expect loopholes, but there is none.
This is an EP worth listening to. Ninety outdid himself. His artistic development has evolved. Great delivery, crispy lyrics, lovely melodies, feel good vibe,top notch sound engineering, and excellent production makes the album more enjoyable, satisfying and relevant. Ninety also stayed within his Afro Fusion comfort zone.
He poured out all of him into this project and it is not surprising to see the quality of the tracks on the album. It is safe to say this is one of the best projects so far this year. It is just so wonderful from the beginning to the end. Zero Misses. A Must-listen. Go listen.
