2020 – The not-so-great year is coming to a needed close and like every other year, it’s closing with music releases coming in thick and fast.
Last weekend graced us with releases from within our locale including projects from Timss Obey, Simi and Niniola. Also from around the world, highly rated album releases from 21 Savage, BLACKPINK and Bryson Tiller.
As a fresh week would—here are the top rated Albums/EPs getting released this weekend.
Olamide – Carpé Diem [Album]
Olamide had always revealed his plans from the beginning of the year -that his focus would be on Fireboy’s roll out for the year, after which it will be shifted to his own music.
With Fireboy’s “Apollo” out for a while(successful too) and behind now, Olamide is set to maintain his ritual of giving us at least an album per year.
If you enjoyed his experimental EP “999” which dropped at the start of the year, be ready for more doses of Olamide.
‘Carpe Diem‘ will contain 12 tracks including lead singles ‘greenlight‘ and ‘eru‘. It will also include features from current hotshots in the Nigerian music scene including Fireboy, Bad Boy Timz, Omah Lay, Phyno, Bella Shmurda and Phyno.

Trey Songz –Back Home [Album]
Trey Songz has been up and round but he has announced the release of his 8th studio album this Friday. The RnB/Soul act spent two years while conjuring this album up and it is set to contain 22 tracks, but it’s the features for me. See Track list below
Darey – Way Home [EP]

Darey (Formerly Dare art Alade) has been off the music scene for almost 5 years now but his well-timed return to the music scene has left people reminiscing about his vocal talent and overall greatness—evident in songs such as “Pray for Me” and “Not the Girl“.
He returns with a 7-track project “Way Home” set to drop this Friday with lead singles “Jah Guide Me” and “JoJo (featuring Patoranking)“.
