DMW Head Honcho, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido is working on enriching his Discography. This isn’t quite familiar with the Nigerian Music Industry but OBO has decided to focus on dropping evergreen Albums for the culture – and we are here for it.
Davido’s sophomore studio Album, “A Good Time (AGT)” was released on November 22, 2019 through Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), RCA Records, and Sony Music. The 17-track project was his first album release since the debut Album that came all the way back in 2012. AGT got positive critical acclaims majorly because of the its versatile variety of sounds and quality of features. The album features international guest appearances from Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Popcaan and local features from Dremo, Peruzzi, Popcaan, Zlatan, Yonda, Wurld, and Naira Marley.
5 months later, Davido has announced the coming of his third studio album titled “A Better Time” in July via his official twitter, making it the shortest space between any of his projects. News of this got the social media buzzing as expected, the Aye crooner is a serial Jam deliverer, his previous album, AGT, contained serial hits like Sweet in the Middle, 1 Milli, Risky, Blow My Mind, Fall, Assurance, If and a whole lot more.
Here’s all the Information we know about ‘A BETTER TIME‘:
- Although its exact date hasn’t been unveiled with Davido having it postponed from its original release month – July, it is definitely set to arrive before the end of the year. Visuals of lead singles are already being readied including ‘Para’ and an unnamed song featuring Lil Baby.
- A Better Time is going to contain just 17 Tracks, this was recently confirmed by Davido. It was Formerly thought to contain just 11 tracks, but it would seem “more time, more tracks” for OBO
- International features seem to be the new trend of Nigerian Music giants, the amount of international acts on Wizkid’s ‘Sound from the other side‘, Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant‘ and Davido’s ‘A Good Time‘ is proof. The trend is set to continue as Davido confirmed Nicki Minaj as one of the guest features on the album, alongside Afro-pop Diva Tiwa Savage and multi-talented Mugeez from Ghana. More recently, he also confirmed that there is – not one – but two collaboration songs with DMW star Mayorkun on the album. Mayorkun, evident as we all know, has mixed quite well with Davido on hit songs like Mind, Bobo, Prayer, Odo, On God and a lot more.
Although more features are expected to be unveiled in the next few weeks, this is already a Mouth-watering feature list.
Davido is known to be a perfectionist when it comes to who handles his Production and how it is done. Long story short, he works with only the best producers. ‘A Good Time’ alone had a production unit that included Shizzi, Fresh VDM, Kiddominant, Speroach Beatz, Tekno, P2J, London on da Track, Seyi, Teekay Witty, Ray Keys, STG and Vstix.
- On his coming album though, he confirmed it is Executively Produced by Speroach Beatz (Produced Assurance and Risky). Apart from his track with Nicki Minaj which is specifically produced by Speroach, He’s not confirmed any other producer on the specific tracks.
